Blondies was lovely find for brunch. I went for the Shakshuka which is one of my favourite dishes, and it definitely didn’t disappoint! The rich, flavourful tomato base with the eggs, feta and fresh herbs was delicious, and it was beautifully presented too.
The staff were welcoming and accommodating too. We had our toddler with us and every time someone came near the table, they made a point of chatting to him and keeping him entertained. Those little touches make such a difference when you're dining out with a toddler and made us feel genuinely welcome rather than like we were inconveniencing anyone.
The food, coffee and atmosphere were all lovely, but the friendly service really made the experience for us. We’d happily come back to Blondies again and would definitely recommend it for a yummy brunch in Ballincollig. ❤️
Something new (since last year) to try, located on Ballincollig’s bustling Main Street and one of the many eateries now popping up in the Ireland’s newest ‘tidy town’, is Blondie.
Our server was what you might call pure-salt-of-the-earth-Cork. From order to on the table it was very quick and efficient. We had the Goat cheese / beetroot salad which had the unusual twist of candied crunchy walnuts and also two roast chicken sourdough ‘doorstop’ sandwiches, very fresh (best toasted) with a nice spread of garlic mayo in them. The sandwiches came with a cup of soup or a generous portion of fries (see pics).
You can people watch from outside on street in the sun ( yes in the middle of April) or from just inside the window or you can always chat or gossip in the shaded part of the restaurant. It is a busy place but they do turnaround tables quickly.
They have a variety desserts and a selection of wines that are made to match different meals. Definitely, worth a try.
